The emerging contaminants are complex issue that causes a lot of concerns. Part of the concern is the lack of understanding of the fate, transportation, and potential effect of these chemicals. Part of the problem is the existing approach used in addressing the emerging contaminant. It is time to adopt a new approach to address the emerging contaminant. The new approach should be proactive to understand the concerns and propose best option to address the chemical. The new approach should be based on a collaboration of the stakeholders. The approach should provide the needed new tools and utilize a proactive process to address the emerging contaminant. This presentation will out line the new proposed approach and discuss the tools needed.
