Best Management Practices in the USDA-NRCS Agricultural Air Quality Program.

Greg Johnson, USDA-NRCS, West National Technology Support Center, 1201 Lloyd Blvd., Suite 1000, Portland, OR 97232

An overview of air quality and atmospheric change work in the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service will be presented.  In particular, recommended changes to air quality resource concerns and associated practice standards will be discussed.  Particular emphasis on recommended practices and activities for land managers to utilize for controlling and mitigating emissions of particulate matter (both fine and coarse), ozone precursors, odors, ammonia, greenhouse gases, and pesticides will be made.  An example or two of how these practices and activities have resulted in air quality improvements will be shared.
