Carbon dioxide emissions from soils contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Soil conservation measures like reduced and not-till methods are able to reduce these negative impacts. Objective of this field study which is performed on an agricultural used field in Austria during the growing season 2005 is to investigate the effects of different tillage methods with respects to CO2 emissions from the soil surface. The investigated treatments include: 1) conventional tillage, 2) reduced tillage and 3) no-till practice. Beside the CO2 emissions the temporal course of soils organic carbon content and related soil properties are determined.
