This presentation is part of: Symposium--Environmental Impact of Strategies to Reduce Dietary Phosphorus

Diet Impacts on Manure P Composition, Transformations and P Runoff Losses.

Brad Joern, Brian Richert, Todd Applegate, Alan Sutton, and Christopher Baxter.

Animal dietary P management can significantly alter both the amount and forms of P excreted in manure. We will show how phytase, high available P (HAP) grains, and reductions in non-phytate P impact manure P excretion and P transformations during storage. We also will show how the manure generated impacts P loss from soils under simulated rainfall.
